Steve Merriam, Ph.D., has over 20 years’ experience
in teaching, research, project management, instructional
design, and curriculum development. He is an honored
college-level teacher, tutor and workshop leader,
specializing in project and program management,
technical writing, editing, and strategic planning
for nonprofit agencies.
He has copyedited such academic journals as Annals
of Criticism, Philosophy, Psychiatry & Psychology,
and Modern Fiction Studies. From 1995
to 1999, he was Design and Production Manager
for the Acquired Paperback Program at the Johns
Hopkins University Press in Baltimore, where
he was responsible for producing 80-100 titles
a year.
Dr. Merriam is also a faculty advisor in the Social
Internship Program at San Diego State’s Entrepreneurial
Management Center where he has overseen research
and writing development with such partners as the
San Diego Symphony, Volunteer San Diego and the
San Diego Foundation.
Currently, he serves on the boards of the Pacific
Children’s’ Theatre (Executive), Mi
Esperanza Honduras (Advisory) and the National
Homeless Court Alliance (Advisory).
Steve Merriam holds a BA from San Diego State
University, an MA and PhD in English from Purdue
University. His dissertation addressed the relationship
between modern and contemporary American poetry
and painting. He is a LEAD San Diego graduate. |
