I received both my BA in English and my MA in Rhetoric and Writing Studies at San Diego State University. I have been a lecturer for the RWS department since Fall 2017! I have a massive passion for teaching and love helping students achieve success. I strive for equity and fairness in teaching and to motivate students to think critically, creatively, and rhetorically.

Much of my pedagogy has been inspired by the works of Peter Elbow, Asao Inoue, and Paulo Freire. I teach a wide variety of writing courses ranging from general writing for both freshmen and juniors and seniors, as well as professional writing courses for business and engineering students. My goal as a teacher is to inspire students to make a difference in their community by embracing their voices as writers and recognizing and developing the power they have in their writing.
