Study Abroad Programs
History, Culture and Writing in Ireland
Immerse yourself in Irish culture through this intensive writing course that will focus on the intersection of political, religious, and social discourse in the development of Ireland. Class discussions will address Irish texts in various genres and media including drama, poetry, art, music, film, and television. Explore several historic sites that complement the principles of aesthetics, the violent and revolutionary history of political Ireland and its people’s identities, and rhetoric of everyday life.
Course: RWS 305W/GENS 450 (3 units)
Location: Galway, Cork, Dublin, Ireland and Belfast, Northern Ireland
Dates Abroad: May 23 - June 12, 2024 (Dates reflect the first and last days of the program abroad.
