Jennifer Burke Reifman is an assistant professor in the Department of Rhetoric and Writing Studies and the future director of lower-division writing. Her research uses participant-centered methodologies to understand the experiences of undergraduate students and explore issues of equity in writing assessment and postsecondary writing programs.

Jennifer began her teaching career 13 years ago in California's CSU and community college classrooms, where she fostered a commitment to accessible and equitable teaching practices. Her scholarship includes a range of book chapters and peer-reviewed articles, notably in “Assessing Writing,” “Journal of Basic Writing,” and “College Composition and Communication.” She has presented her research at national and international conferences, including the Writing Research Across Borders Conference, the Council for Writing Program Administrators Conference, and the American Educational Research Association Conference. Jennifer currently serves as a co-managing editor for "Xchanges," a journal publishing undergraduate and graduate research, and is a leader in the Global Society of Online Literacy Education (GSOLE).
